Honestly, I did it for years and while working for a major corporation. I declared I was tax exempt based on the fact that taxation by the IRS was never fully ratified by all states. And for me, it worked. I had my tabulated tax code book, wrote very clear and specific letters and managed it quite well. I could have, would have kept it up but decided I was spending way too much time and energy managing the deluge of paperwork needed. Oh and I'm fully paid up, so it is all good. I paid up when Obama was elected as a sort of celebration and my penance owed. And I am just one person, although I do believe there are plenty that keep it up to this day, their tax exempt status. If there were 100,000 tax exempts protesters, or even more, I think it would send a very large message.
It is something you cannot talk about on mainstream social media, and you won't hear any podcasts or news organizations interviewing the "tax evaders", as the subject gets shut down immediately. To get all the states to ratify would require some major changes to the tax code. A good source to read up on it is available at Tax Protest Movement, https://www.adl.org/resources/backgrounder/tax-protest-movement. I had an resource whose father was with the Montana Freeman. I do believe they have all faded into obscurity so my references have all dried up.
Wow, I remember my brother telling me what you just said, but he’s a real crazy resistor anyway so that’s cool. I don’t work anymore. I wish I’ve known what I used to do because my son when he was in college, he was an accountant and he while he was getting his degree, and he used to tell me when I could tell my employer when I could go exempt so I could get some of the taxes. It was kind of weird, but it kind of helped at least it didn’t get to where they were sucking me dry all the time.
None of what they are doing should be a surprise. They did and said the vast majority of what they want to do to the nation and its people out in the open. Bradley foundation and others funnelin money to 501c groups for decades, propping up riightwing AM radio, the Federalist Society took over the courts, Tea Party, Heritage Foundation, AFP, etc....while the rightwing built and MAGA built, Democrats proved they're cowards and didn't use the power to set up more defense to stop this authoritarian takeover from being able to take over proving their Judy to MAGA's punch. Meanwhile the left identifies into smaller and smaller bickering fighting identities and groups, more willing to shank or stab eachother in the back than actualy work together. Then so many apathetic nonvoters who consider themselves left of center who couldn't be bothered to vote or contribute to democracy. Im more piseed off at the left for this bullshit, we fucking failed everything they wanted to do laid out in front but hey we have Chuck Schumer right? Ffs!
Check all the boxes already. Never was a primer or shopped at those places. It’s funny to me people don’t realize how their consumerism creates these monsters. I would add, go back to being self sufficient. Learn to grow your veggies and take up knitting or sewing. I have been getting into canning to elevate myself more. Best of luck people!
Yeah, that’s what I said in like my daughter had a hole in one of her leggings and I just sewed up for her and she was like it’s gonna look good but then she realized I can’t even tell… And I’m that weird person that lives in an apartment that has all sorts of pots with spinach and tomatoesand cucumbers, it’s not a lot, but it’s enough to feed me and my kids
I agree with you, Gina I’ll tell you why I am a monster boycotter. I always have been. I don’t shop at certain places because of their practices and I don’t just mean here in the country. I mean anywhere and it’s really hard because some things I like to buy, but they’re owned by like Nestlé and Nestlé’s like really exploitative overseas things like that . Makes it hard but see it’s easy for me to read that list because I despise all those things anyway but yeah, I sure agree with you.
Seven years ago, I moved to a credit union. For full disclosure, I do have a bank account opened at a larger bank only to do certain business transactions and I never leave my money in that account. Unfortunately, a lot of credit unions don’t do certain things, but they’re slowly coming on board. Unfortunately, sometimes you have to deal with the devil, but for the past several years, it’s become quite a fun game with me and my kids to find ways to get what we need without shopping at Amazon, target, Walmart… Here’s a funny story. I was doing some laundry at a laundromat and there was this cute little $.99 store next to the laundromat owned by this wonderful little woman who had everything from nail polish to cleaning supplies… She would buy bulk and then just sell it in the store and while maybe the products were made by big companies company these were returns from major retailers and she was making a profit and so I just started going there
Oh my gosh. I once read Nestle wanted to control water. That gave me such anxiety! Like who controls water? And they are extremely horrible in their practices. I don’t buy any of their products. In fact, I don’t buy anything in plastic anymore. It has to be in glass or a paper bag or I do without. I know I sound insane, but I am not contributing to the plastic dilemma. All water bottles are canned and they taste much better. Granted, I live alone and have minimum expenses, but if one can buy for substance and support the planet.
When I was about 21/22 somewhere in there, I learned that Nestlé controlled a lot of the water in the Angela national forest through a lease where they paid about a dollar a year and that lease was coming up and around that same time several of their executives “retired“ receiving large golden parachute deals and we’re now running for county supervisor positions and being funded by Nestlé… Why? Because they were to vote to re-up the lease maybe for something like $10 a year, thereby making that more and more money and controlling more water. If people ask me what activated my resistance… That was it, and I began to realize that while people tend to focus on, who is the president, people need to start focusing very carefully on who they’re electing in their own cities. When my kids started to become of age to vote, I would sit with them and we would look down ballot and research every single person on the ballot, no matter how “small” their position might be.
‘They’ are counting on our addiction to convenience and instant gratification, hard habits and mind set to overcome….we need to keep trying…even if we fail over and over…starve the cancer….

How do you do that? Can you suggest a place for me to start researching how to do that?

I love a good consignment shop! I could lose myself in those places. And people always comment on my purses because they are unique.
And thank you for the follow. 🙏🏻

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed. My advice is too choose a couple of issues and a couple of actions.
That way you have a {chance} of making change.
Remember can’t never could.
