Frankly, I anticipated the outcome of the White male vote. I even braced myself for the way the Latino male vote unfolded. But my fellow White women? You’ve left me speechless.
What happened? Seriously, what TF is wrong with you?
And before anyone rushes in with, “But I’m not racist!”—stop. Yes, you are. Spare me the weak, tired excuses about the economy. We see through it. “Economic stability” is just a fancy way of admitting you’re uncomfortable with women—especially women of color—having power. Oh, the irony, given that you are a woman.
Immigration? Oh please. “They’re taking our jobs”? What job? Seriously, name the job you didn’t get because Juanita or anyone non-white supposedly took it. Go on, I’ll wait. Spoiler alert: there isn’t one.
The price of gas? Oh honey, just buckle up for the financial disaster when those tax cuts and tariffs bite. Don’t even think about clutching those pearls when little Johnny’s college dreams get flushed.
All eyes are watching now as Trump makes America great again- that’s his promise- right?
I’ve been trying to wrap my head around this all morning. Desperately grasping for some rational explanation. Maybe centuries of patriarchal brainwashing have left us so dependent on men that we can't imagine surviving without their “guidance”? Have we really internalized fear and submission to the point that we settle for scraps with a smile?
Is this programming so embedded that we can't see how absurd it is? Are we seriously that gullible, so convinced of the roles we’re supposed to play that we’re willing to lock ourselves back in the same old cage just to keep the menfolk comfy?
It’s almost hilarious, really, to think about how many of us have been screaming about women’s empowerment, talking about the 4B movement. Yet, if over half of White women are out here voting for a man with a sexual assault conviction? Yeah, there’s plenty of them to go around.
So many of us have dedicated years—decades—trying to wake our sisters up from their patriarchal-induced slumber. I’ve wondered what it would take to finally jolt them awake. They hide behind God, pretending their choices are about policies and values.
But today? I see it for what it is. They knew exactly what they were voting for. And they just. Didn’t. Care.
To the women of color who’ve been doing the heavy lifting, fighting to keep this country from toppling over a cliff: You owe us nothing. We owe you everything. And I’m sorry.
And for the record? I’ve seen the advice circulating on social media, telling us to sanitize our profiles and erase anything that might offend the new regime and its bootlickers. Nope. Every word stays. I refuse to be silenced. I refuse to hide. I’m going to fight like Kali for the rights every human deserves.
